WIP 22

Time to quickly recap what I have done for the past 6 weeks.  Here goes!

1)  I finished 5 more blocks on my skill builder sampler.  Only 4 more to go until we are all done!

2) My bees knees hexagon quilt is basted and ready to quilt.

3) and 4)  I finished the two granny squares teacher quilts, and they have already been given to the teachers.

5) I finished my completely scrappy quilt top and am awaiting the arrival of the backing fabric to quilt this thing.  I love it!

6) I finished my Christmas Homeward Bound quilt.  I found out that there is another quilt block named homeward bound, so I will have to rename mine.  Any ideas?  Tutorial here.  Finished quilt here.

7)  I have started and completed a quilt for the EZ Dresden Challenge Blog Hop.  Here is the back of the quilt, a regular dresden plate.  I’ll be showing the rest of the quilt plus a tutorial on June 4th, so feel free to stop by then!

8)  I will be making another quilt using the Dresden pieces for the challenge itself, so I am very excited for that!

6 quilts in progress from last time.

+2 quilts started.

-4 quilts finished.

That leaves me with 4 quilts in progress.  Linking up with Lee’s WIP posts!

  1. Julie says:

I do the sampler from Leila too! I love your blocks. Your quilts are amazing! I especially love the homeward bound one. I like the name a lot, too bad someone else took it.

  2. Flaun says:

How about “All Signs Point to Yes!” as your Homeward Bound rename?

  3. A Girl says:

Such amazing work. The scrappy quilt is so fabulous.

  11. Emma says:

I love the fabrics you’ve chosen for your skills builder quilt.

  12. Em says:

I’m doing the skill builder sampler as well, but I’m a little bit behind right now! Are you using some of the same fabrics as Leila? Your blocks look lovely.

You could name your block Octageese, like octagon, but there are 8 lines of flying geese pointing toward the center.

    • Tanya says:

Yes, I have a lot of the same fabrics as Leila. I try to make mine a little different, but sometimes hers looks just perfect.

  13. Connie says:

Your bees knees hexie quilt is amazing! Can’t wait to see the finished piece. The skills builder sampler blocks are really cute. Is that a pattern or quilt-along or something else online? I’d love to add it to my list of future projects.

    • Tanya says:

If you go to, you will find the skill builder sampler quilt-along. Have fun! It has been great 🙂

  14. Jovita says:

Geez, what can I say? I love it all!

  15. sukie says:

OMG!! yeah that’s a good OMG!

  16. Nita says:

there are so many things, I don’t know which one to comment on! Everything is so wonderful! I think you could re-name the Christmas quilt “Candycane Snowflakes” or something like that. What are those little round candies called that have that red pinwheel pattern on them called? That’s what it reminds me of, lol!
