Raw Edge 2.5 inch Square Quilt

*I have made a free tutorial for making this quilt.

I’m linking up to Quiltstory’s Fabric Tuesday.

My most recent finish!

My friends and I saw a quilt similar to this, and we knew we had to make some.  But, they didn’t know how, so I decided to make one as a prototype and then show them how to make one.  I used a charm pack that I received at the Blogger’s Quilt Market Meet-up.  It is Darlene Zimmerman’s Sweet Pickin’s line.  So cute!

So with a little spray baste, some 3/4 inch masking tape, a glue stick, some math, and a lot of straight line quilting, this little babe was born.

I used Holly Holderman’s “Leaf it to me” in yellow as the backing.  I also used a blue gingham (leftovers from my daughter’s Dorothy Costume, cut on a bias) as the binding.  I had been saving that gingham for the perfect quilt.  This was the perfect quilt!

This quilt measured 41 inches by 51 inches.  I have yet to wash it, but a soon to be born baby girl will be the recipient of this cute little quilt!

This is beautiful. Just love the simplicity of it all. Can I ask what size are the sashing in between the blocks?

  5. Karee says:

I love the tape tip for the spacing/sashing between the blocks. Brilliant.
