100th Blog Post Giveaway

Three finishes are on the horizon!

So, I’ve been asking myself a question.  Which is more important?  A bloggiversary, a 100th blog post, or the 100th quilt?  I’m thinking the 100th quilt is the most important, but I felt that since this 100th post was on the horizon, I’d go ahead an put together a giveaway.

I started blogging with the intent to share my experience quilting.  I knew I loved quilting when I started, but I really struggled at first because I had no one to help me or give me advice.  Here was a hobby I loved, and I didn’t know how to get any better.  I’d look at magazines and I’d watch you-tube videos, but I didn’t know what I was looking for, or even how to search for it (thus my first 20-30 quilts 🙂 ).  It wasn’t until the day that I searched online using the key word “Quilt Blog” that I finally found what I was looking for.   Someone to give me advice.  Someone to teach me the techniques I was looking for, and someone to give me the names of those techniques so I could search the internet and find even more someones.  Some blogs even had a whole list of someones on their sidebars!  I have learned so much from quilt bloggers, and I have even won a few things from them.  So, here is my way of giving back.

So, for my 100th post giveway, I’m letting the lucky winner choose one of three fat quarter bundles.

Summertime by Barbara Jones for HenryGlass & Co.

Cherry Fizz by Quilt Soup for HenryGlass & Co.

Or a Fat Quarter Bundle of Denise Schmidt’s Sugar Creek Collection.

To enter this giveaway, please enter a comment (one comment per person) below and tell me:

1) which fabric bundle you would like and

2) What do you want to do when you grow up?

The giveaway will close Tuesday, January 17th, at Midnight.  International entries welcome.  And, considering I’m pretty sure I don’t have much of a following, you have a very high chance of winning! 🙂

Good luck.  I’ll announce the winner Wednesday, January 18th.

*It is now January 18th, and the winner is Jane.  Thanks for stopping by!

I quite like the Denise Schmidt one – It would make a lovely quilt for my Dear Mum’s 60th which is coming up in May.

I have always wanted to do “The knowledge” and be a London Black Taxi driver or “Cabbie” but wouldnt want to actually have to drive around London lol!

  4. Lorelei says:

I like the cherry Fizz. Happy blog anniversary. I would like to be a full time crafter! Ps. I am hosting and I spy charm swap if you are interested. http://midnightmaker.blogspot.com/2012/01/inaugural-i-spy-charm-swap.html

  5. Anna says:

I am new to the world of quilt blogs and am happy to know that it is possible to make it through the first 100 posts!! I love the Summertime fabric. 🙂 When I grow up I would like to open a craft shop. And if that isn’t possible, I want to be a Dean of Students at a small college (after all, that is what I am going to school for)!

  6. Jane says:

My favorite bundle is Cherry Fizz by Quilt Soup for HenryGlass & Co.

I’ve always hated having to think about what I wanted to be when I grew up because that would me that I would have to act mature and get old. So, since I still feel like a twenty-something-er (since I still am until April) and am a mom to 3 boys, I shall chose to raise my children to be successful individuals. But when I grow up, well, I don’t know that I’ll ever grow up, so I’ll just try and hold on to my silliness and free-spirited-ness (yes, I made up a word) until people think I am going senile and then hopefully my children will put me in a lovely home where I can play games with other silly people all day long. I by silly, I don’t mean crazy. But if I’m forced to grow up and contribute to society, I’d love to work for a crafting company. My job would be to travel to all the trade shows and craft fairs to find the new products and trends. Yes, that is what I would like to do. Maybe I’ll grow up. Maybe.

  7. Patty d says:

Congrats on 100!!! I love the middle of the bundles. When I was little I wanted to be an astronaut. Which is funny since I am afraid of heights! Have a great day.

  8. brittany says:

i like the cherry fizz. way to make it to 100 post. i wish i had more time to quilt like you. i want to be a nurse.

  9. Id love to win the Cherry Fizz bundle.

  10. I’d like to be a ballerina when I grow up

  11. Jill says:

Today was my 100th post as well. Maybe I should have done something to celebrate too! I’m not sure how I’d know when I hit 100 quilts, I didn’t count for years, but if I could, I would say that would be the biggest milestone for me.

Congrats on the posts though, I always love to see what you’re working on.

If I won, I’d pick the cherry fizz.

When I grow up, I want to be a home owner, able to offer hospitality and care to my friends and family, working helping people in need. And happily quilting away in my free time.

  12. Jen F says:

I would love the summertime bundle. Mostly because I live in what my husband calls “the frozen tundra” but most people call upstate New York and I could use a little summer.

When I grow up I want to be a mommy. And a food stylist. I seriously think that food stylist is the coolest job for a caterer’s kid that can’t eat any food that doesn’t look pretty.

  13. Michelle K says:

    I’d pick the summertime bundle!!!

  14. Michelle K says:

I wanted to be a teacher when I grew up

  15. Brooke says:

I am so impressed with all your quilts! I can’t believe you’ve almost hit 100. I really love seeing all the quilts you bring for show and tell to quilt guild!

Summertime would be my first choice, but they’re all great!

  16. Anna says:

  18. Kim McBirnie says:

When I grow up I want to be a disability adviser – which funnily enough is what I do now – but when I grow up I want to do it with better hair and without most of my vegetable patch down my nails. I love the summertime bundle. Thanks for throwing this open to international readers too!

  19. Meg says:

    I love Summertime–what a great bundle!

When I grow up, I’d love to be a professional research assistant for a publisher/author. I mean, I’m already a librarian, so I have the skills. But being paid to learn all day, given great topics and places to travel and write about? Sign me up!

  20. Maria says:

Congrats on your 100th post! Well, of course I want to be a full time quilter when I grow up, but my day job keeps getting in the way. 😉 All the bundles are great – I guess I’d go with the Denyse Schmidt. Thanks for the chance to win!

  21. Liz says:

The Cherry Fizz is super cute and would make something super cute.
When I grow up I want to be a, well I am not sure, if I want to grow up, but if I had to choose a career to do when I grow old I would teach or be a nurse.
Oh and by the way I want to make a quilt…

  22. First of all thanks for the giveaway and congrats on your 100th blog post! I found your blog some weeks ago when you were featured on quilt story 🙂 I’m a follower since then and like your style of quilting.
Omto the questions: I’d choose cherry fizz! And although I consider myself grown up, I think there’s still room for dreaming… I wouldn’t change much though, I’d wish for a better balance in life – kids, household duties, part time job, hobbies, um… husband! So the answer is perhaps that I’d like to be a better ME. Happy quilting and keep on blogging!

  23. julie says:

i would adore the summertime bundle! thank you for the generous giveaway!. When i grow up i’d like to be a better blogger, and a great quilter, maybe own a quilt store somewhere?

  27. Erin says:

Thanks for the giveaway! I’d love to win Cherry Fizz by Quilt Soup for HenryGlass & Co.. As for what I want to be when I grow up… I’d just like to be a good person and a good quilt maker. Everything else is extra 🙂

  29. Flaun says:

When I grow up, I want to be a professional quilter and designer. 😀

  30. KellyS says:

Congrats on 100 posts! I’d love to win the Cherry Fizz bundle, it’s gorgeous! And if I could do this for a living: sew, blog, and stay-at-home with my three munchkins; I would. But the day will come when I will have to go back to work… unless I win the lottery. 😉

  31. Becky Snow says:

Choose me choose me!! I want the Sugar Creek bundle and you can tell me what to make with it! I want to be sane when I grow up 🙂

  32. Kimmie T. says:

    1) I love the Cherry Fizz Pack. Who doesn’t like fabric with cherries–super cute!
    2) When I grow up, I want to learn how to make comments on people’s blogs! And maybe one day start a blog of my own. But, if we are shooting really high, I want to be the ward librarian. Best calling EVER!

  33. Cathy Byrd says:

Hard to choose between them. I think Cherry Fizz – I love cherry. Sweet, Pretty, Makes you lips and tongue pink 🙂
When I grow up – which will take a few more years – I’m only 52 now – I want to be just like Mertis. Mertis is my friend who’s 92. Every Wednesday she has a few lady’s over to her house to visit – sit – and sew. Of course, we also have pot luck snacks too. Her eyes are kind and happy and blue as the sky. Her home (the one she started housekeeping in is the one she’s still living in) is charming with the beautiful things she acquired during her life. Comfortable beauty! 🙂
She says – you have to participate! Take part! and she is a woman of her word. It would be interesting to know how many charity quilts she’s had a hand in.
She still is able to sew, quilt, cooks up a storm like magic, work outside, still has a fire in her fireplace, and is kind and gracious as a hostess.
So – whenever I do finally finish growing up – I’d be happy to be like Mertis.

I would choose the Sugar Creek bundle– I’ve been wanting that line since I first saw it!!! LOVE it!! Thank you so much for a chance to win some of that gorgeous fabric!!! 🙂 When I was growing up, I wanted to be a Mommy— done that! 🙂 Then, I wanted to be a Grandma… done that, too– in May of last year!! 🙂 So, now, when I grow up, I want to be a GREAT- Grandma! 🙂

  35. Elsie Bertling says:

I like the sugar creek collection. Growing up I also wanted to be a mom. Now that my daughters are grown I work at a daycare and spend all day with babies, which is my dream job.

  36. Heather says:

    I love me some cherries!
When I grow up I want to be a runner…. Not exciting but it is something I wish I could do or had time to.

  37. Janice says:

It’s tough to pick between Summertime and Cherry Fizz, but I’d have to say Summertime speaks to me with those polka dots, so that is the one I would choose.

When I grow up I’m going to be a quilter. Just that a quilter. I’m going to retire this coming year and I want to spend some time building my quilting skills. I want to improve my piecing and color sense. I have so many quilts I want to make. A Grandmother’s Flower Garden using English paper piecing. A quilt with circular piecing. An Amish style quilt. The list goes on.

I love your idea about utilizing your blog to assist new quilters. Keep it up. They are out there reading your tutes and learning.
